In space no one can hear you croak
This afternoon I went to a flea market here in the city, it was bad weather this morning and I wasn't sure if there even would be any people left there. Luckily not all of them had fled from the rain. Not many games this time around but I did manage to find Aliens: Thanatos Encounter for Game Boy Color and Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge for PlayStation.
Nostalgia and good finds at the flea market
Today I went to a very big flea market with a good friend, we walked around for about 6 hours there and I found some cool things. Some non gaming stuff too but here I will show you the gaming related things I bought. Not really games themselves, but I bought three Diablo novels and two CD's of Sonic Dance Power (compilations of music from various artists with just the Sonic brand on it). For the games themselves I got Cursed Mountain and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for Wii, Xena: Warrior Princess for PlayStation and some PC games that I used to play as a little kid from the Putt-Putt, Freddi Fish and Spy Fox franchise. Bought these mainly for nostalgic reasons. Besides all this I also found a boxed Microvision handheld with the games Block Buster and Shooting Star. This is a handheld from Milton Bradley and actually the first handheld with interchangeable games. Had a great time today and also got home with lots of cool things!
Back from Antwerp Convention
Yesterday I went to Antwerp Convention with two very good friends, it's a convention mainly about sci-fi, horror and fantasy. Had a great time there, got to meet some people that I normally don't see that much and also bought a couple of things. Two of those things are videogames, it are two Nintendo 64 games that were a real bargain. The games are Xena: Warrior Princess and Buck Bumble. I have a busy day ahead of me so testing these will have to wait until tomorrow.
A tale of worms and tigers
I went to my father this afternoon and afterwards I decided to go to the local thrift store once more, it's not very far from where he lives. They had a couple of PlayStation games but only two that I was interested in. I bought Worms Armageddon and T'ai Fu: Wrath of the Tiger, both very cheap.
Fantasy role playing on Steam
The Witcher is a game that has always managed to get my interest but I never got to play the game. While I was browsing in the Steam store I saw that the Enhanced Edition of the game is available for Mac too. This afternoon I decided to finally buy this game so I could experience it myself. I've been playing for about an hour already and so far I like the game. Once again I wasn't too sure if my iMac would be able to handle The Witcher, but after messing around with the settings for a while it plays good and still looks good too.
Charging the flea markets
Finally the season for outdoor flea markets has started again here in Belgium. Today I went to two of them with a very good friend, a big one in another city around here and a small one in my own city that was just a 5 minute walk from where I live. There were games in the big one but most from resellers and also quite expensive. I did find Sega Rally Championship 2 for Dreamcast there for a very good price. In the small one I bought Golden Axe: Beast Rider for Xbox 360, this one was also really cheap.
Playing with portals
Yesterday I have beaten Jurassic Park: The Game on Steam (I enjoyed the game a lot actually), and I decided to play the first Portal again. A really short game actually, finished it in one sitting but it remains a great game! This morning when I checked Steam I saw there was a deal for Portal 2 this weekend, another discount of 75%. I wasn't sure if the game would play well in my iMac since it is on older model, from early 2009. I decided to buy it at last, it is a good price. Surprisingly enough the game runs very well on my iMac, didn't expect this. Played it for an hour already and I'm really enjoying it! As you can see on the picture below I bought a new mouse too this week, the standard mouse that was delivered with my iMac started showing issues for a while now and I'm glad I replaced it. Now I got a Cyborg R.A.T. 5, great mouse so far!
Welcome to Jurassic Park
Last night I was browsing the catalogue from Steam for Mac and noticed that there were sales going on. One in particular got my interest, that was Jurassic Park: The Game with a discount of 75%. I decided to buy the game even though I know it wasn't received very well in general. I'm glad I bought it though, played through the first episode already and I really enjoyed it. Being a fan of the movie helps a lot I guess.
Of monsters and dinosaurs
The last four days I was visiting some friends in Ghent. Right before I left for Ghent a package arrived from Amazon containing Jurassic: The Hunted for PlayStation 3, it looks like a game that's right up my alley. Only released in America but fortunately the PlayStation 3 is region free. While in Ghent I also bought Godzilla: Save the Earth for the original Xbox, being a big fan of the Japanese Godzilla movies I'm happy to finally have all three of these brawlers that were the released in the last two generations.
Three new games for Nintendo platforms
Today I went to a shop to search for some things, they also have games there and I was very lucky this time. I found Dream Trigger 3D and Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions for Nintendo 3DS for extremely cheap prices. Besides those two games I also got The Last Story for Wii, I was looking for this one for a while now and I'm glad to finally have it.
Mark of the Ninja
Yesterday I also bought some Microsoft Points because right now some games are on sale for Xbox Live Arcade. One of those games is Mark of the Ninja, I played the trial before and liked it and now that it was at half price I decided to buy this one. Played the first level already and I really like this one.
A bunch of new games
Today I went to Ostend with a very good friend, while we were there we went to a gameshop that we heard of a couple of weeks ago but weren't able to visit before because it was always closed when we were there. It was a good store with good prices, I bought a couple of games there. I got Metroid for NES, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie for Game Boy Classic, Zaxxon for Atari 2600, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue for GameCube and also a set of paddle controllers for Atari 2600. Yesterday I went to a book convention and there I found the novel to Metal Gear Solid 2.
